Sukhmana Sahib comprises 24 Ashtapadis, the 8 stepped hymns, spanning 4 Raags: Himself being completely devoted to the third Guru, Guru Amardas Sahib, love of the Guru and God’s name reflects clearly in the 688 hymns revealed by him. Tradition has it that Sukhmana Sahib was revealed by Guru Ramdas Sahib before renunciates in Lahore, where he had come to pay a visit to his mother Mata Daya Kaur. Sukhmana Sahib is a compilation from the Gurbani of the fourth Guru, Guru Ramdas Sahib. Is it a typo? Did I actually mean to write Sukhmani Sahib? Well, the answer is no! Many Sikhs may have never heard of the Sukhmana Sahib.
